extinction burst

the term extinction burst is derived from behavioral psychology, describing the point at which your mind resists a conscious effort to reform or extinguish an undesirable behavior and instead engineers an augmented resurgence of the behavior. born in the wake of the 2016 presidential election, the project examines the collective paroxysms of white male america by clustering uncomfortable moments of personal narrative, loose reenactments of terrifying reality, and feverish visions of the future, and ruminates on those who perceive themselves as victims by illuminating their incomplete view of the world.
